This pack contains 3 pelham shanks: baby, medium and long pelham. You can find the dimensions in the pictures.
This is a modification of the traditional pelham, designed to better emulate the benefits of a curb bit. The cheekpieces are directly attached to freely rotating bit rings, allowing us to interact with the mouthpiece like a regular loose ring snaffle and transfer pressure to the corners of the mouth. By using double reins, we apply leverage to the lower jaw. The intensity of the effect is regulated by the length of the shanks (short, medium, and long shank options are available) and the length of the curb chain. Can be used with two pairs of reins or with a pelham converter.
Recommended for horses: very strong, pulling, rushing fences, carrying their head too low.
Recommended for riders: experienced, aware of hand movements.
