This is a modification of the traditional Pelham, designed to better mimic the advantages of a curb bit. The cheekpieces are attached directly to freely rotating bit rings, which allows us to interact with the mouthpiece like a normal loose-ring bit and transfer pressure to the corners of the mouth. By using double reins, we exert force on the lower jaw. The intensity of the effect is regulated by the length of the shanks (short, medium, and long shanks are available) and the length of the curb chain. Can be used with two pairs of reins or a Pelham delta.
Recommended for horses that are: very strong, pull, rush fences, or carry their head too low.
Recommended for riders who are: experienced and aware of their hand movements.
