Used in conjunction with a bradoon bit in a double bridle. Its upper part has rings for attaching cheek pieces and hooks for attaching the curb chain. The lower part has rings for attaching the curb reins. The bit exerts strong pressure on the lower jaw and poll. Allows for lifting and rounding of the neck in higher-level dressage. Its strength is determined by the length of the shanks (short, medium, and long shanks are available) and the length of the curb chain.
Recommended for horses: well-trained.
Recommended for riders: experienced, capable of managing two pairs of reins.
