Winderen - Baby Pelham cheekpiece

The Winderen Baby Pelham combines the leverage of a curb bit with the simplicity of a snaffle – a perfect choice for situations where the horse needs more control but a sensitive feel.

The bit ring has three rings:

• Top ring: for attaching cheek straps and curb chain

• Middle ring: for attaching the rein or pelham delta

• Bottom ring: lower attachment for a second rein or delta

The strength of the leverage depends on the length of the shank (available in short, medium, or long) and the adjustments of the curb chain and delta. Pressure is applied under the chin and to the poll, which helps control the horse, especially in situations where it gets excited or easily gets above the bit. If you want less leverage, purchase Fager's Adjustable delta parts, which allow you to apply less tension to the lower part than to the center ring, preventing the horse from becoming heavy on the forehand / falling through. You can use either a leather chain with clips or a curb strap-style curb rein.
