Fager Oliver is a double-jointed sweet iron bit made from a grey sweet iron coating. Sweet iron is very beneficial when encouraging young or unbalanced horses to accept the bit better and carry it more calmly in their mouth.

Fager Oliver is suitable if you would describe your horse as;

• Pulls against the contact, but still reacts to increased pressure.
• Unstable in the contact.
• Easily develops sores and cuts.
• Does not instinctively seek the contact.

The fine quality construction creates a 100% smooth surface across the entire mouthpiece area, including the ingeniously designed joints, which are positioned so that they never press against the palate or rest uncomfortably on the sides of the mouthpiece. Oliver's design provides a very comfortable bit that conforms to the natural contours of the tongue.

More Stability and More Direct Communication

Fager designs bits so that they maintain the correct balance point (BP) in the mouth. Other bit constructions create a larger bend forward, causing the BP to shift forward and reducing the effectiveness of the aids.

Oliver's design is well-suited for horses with sensitive mouths that easily get cuts or rubs, as well as for all sensitive horses that are not "super" with a normal thicker three-piece bit.
