Fager Bits - Marcus - Sweet Iron - Loose Ring

The Fager Marcus has it all! An incredibly comfortable bit with 100% super smooth surfaces, including the joints.

The joints on the Marcus are designed so that they never press against the palate or cause uneven pressure on the bars of the mouth. It is a very comfortable bit that naturally conforms around the tongue and frees the bars of the mouth from constant pressure.

Fager Marcus is recommended if your horse:

• Pulls against the contact, but still reacts to increased pressure.
• Is uneven in the contact.
• Throws its head and brings it below the contact.
• Resists accepting the bit.
• Does not instinctively seek contact.

The Sweet Iron material naturally oxidizes and rusts during use. This oxidation process creates a "sweet" taste, which increases and encourages salivation. If you want more seeking to the contact, we recommend the Sweet Iron material, as the taste actively encourages the horse to seek the bit.

No more rubbing and sores!

Fager's mouthpiece designs are always horizontally straight – there is no large forward bend anywhere. Bits are designed this way to maintain the correct balance point (BP) in the mouth.

This unique design also helps to protect the bars of the mouth and the fleshier parts of the mouth from rubbing and sores, even on the most sensitive horses.

N.B. The balance point is maintained even if the tongue flexes slightly = upwards.

Note: Marcus has the same mouthpiece as Milton. Marcus is a jointed version = normal rings and normal thickness. Milton is a bradoon version = smaller rings and smaller thickness.
