Fager bits - John - Sweet iron - Baby pelham
Fager John is a double-jointed bit. The bits are designed with a 100% smooth surface, including around the joints. The joints are designed and constructed so that they will never press on the palate or rest on the jawbone. All these smart features make the bit very comfortable, and it naturally conforms to the shape of the tongue.
The straight and thin design enhances aids, creating straighter and more precise communication than ever before. This design is an ideal choice for sensitive horses that are prone to chafing or bruising.
The Baby Pelham cheekpiece provides a frame for horses that tend to be unstable but are still powerful. We recommend using the Baby Pelham bit with a delta attachment or with two reins, one attached to the large fixed ring and the other to the smaller ring.
With two reins, you can easily adjust how much leverage you want from the bit by shortening or lengthening the rein attached to the bottom ring. More leverage will result in a slightly lower neck and a stronger effect, while less leverage can raise the horse slightly higher in the neck with less effect. If you use Fager's adjustable delta, you have the same choice without needing to use two reins.
This unique design functions as a leverage version of a normal Baucher bit.
Fager John is an ideal choice if you describe your horse as follows:
- Pulls on the bit, but reacts sensitively to excessive pressure on the reins.
- Easily develops sores, chafing, and rubs at the corners of the mouth.
- Raises the neck high and is powerful.
