Used together with a bridoon in a double bridle. It has rings at the top for attaching the cheek pieces and hooks for attaching the curb chain. At the bottom, there are rings for attaching the curb reins. The bit applies significant pressure to the lower jaw and poll. It allows for the lifting and rounding of the neck in higher-level dressage. Its severity is determined by the length of the shanks (short, medium, and long shanks are available) and the length of the curb chain.
Recommended for horses: well-trained.
Recommended for riders: experienced riders who can manage two pairs of reins.
